From Complexity to Emergence : #IAMTALKS : The Futures of Education a.k.a. Learning

Eilidh Dickson - Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design

Representing the Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID), Eilidh Dickson kicked off our IAM Weekend 16 session on The Futures of Education a.k.a. Learning by highlighting CIID’s focus on prototyping as part of the curriculum. In order to design “meaningful, pragmatic and socially relevant solutions”, it’s becoming abundantly clear that an iterative, hands-on process is essential, and CIID utilise it to its full effect.

As an unaccredited institution, Eilidh explained, CIID can pivot and adapt their curriculum to adjust to the needs of both society and its students, while the entire faculty is also visiting, allowing for the flexibility to bring in experts whenever necessary. These structural advantages ensure that CIID remains agile, and combined with its emphasis on practical education, it’s creating a model for the educational institution of tomorrow.
