Ricarda Messner is a publisher, writer and entrepreneur from Berlin. Last year she co-founded SOFA magazine, in collaboration with Caia Hagel, dedicated to uncovering Generation Z culture and looking into “one tantalizing, terrifying, tantamount or taboo topic” each issue, and in 2013 she also founded Flaneur Magazine, a nomadic, independent magazine telling universal stories through the microcosm of a different street around the world each issue.

To that end, she has since launched her own press, Edition Messner, 'created to publish dreams', and HungryForFortune, also with Caia Hagel, a forecasting agency that creates public happenings and aims to redefine brands and consult with clients to pioneer 21st century innovations in technology, culture and female leadership.

What if we use utopias as a verb?

For IAM Weekend 17 we will go deeper into the meaning of utopias, with imagination and skepticism, understanding how they can evolve beyond contemporary dreams and help us navigate the uncertainty of our times.

The main stage will feature 30+ speakers distributed in 5 sessions (single-track conference format) plus 10+ workshops led by our learning partners developing the key insights from the talks. Our serendipitous agenda will also include several side-events including parties, dinners, screenings, special projects and installations.
