Cecilia Tham is the founder of Makers of Barcelona (MOB), a Barcelona-based collaborative community and facility for makers, creators and doers, and FabCafe Barcelona, a concept coffee shop that combines an innovative use for digital fabrication tools such as laser cutters, 3D printers and plotters, in an everyday environment such as the coffee shop.

She is also the founder of MEAT (Making Extremely Awesome Things), a co-creative agency that plays with design, technology and innovation powered by MOB. She is also the founder of, an online collaborative innovation platform for collectives, and Future Funded, a crowdfunding platform created to finance the training of talent. Cecilia is a designer and biologist by training, serial entrepreneur by choice and a compulsive maker for life.

What if we use utopias as a verb?

For IAM Weekend 17 we will go deeper into the meaning of utopias, with imagination and skepticism, understanding how they can evolve beyond contemporary dreams and help us navigate the uncertainty of our times.

The main stage will feature 30+ speakers distributed in 5 sessions (single-track conference format) plus 10+ workshops led by our learning partners developing the key insights from the talks. Our serendipitous agenda will also include several side-events including parties, dinners, screenings, special projects and installations.
