A feminist and political activist, Jasmina Tešanovic is a writer, journalist, musician, translator and film director who is keenly interested in freedom, dignity and Balkan power struggles. In 1978 she promoted the first feminist conference in Eastern Europe, Drug-ca Zena, and she co-founded the first Balkans feminist publishing house: Feminist 94.

She is also the author of Diary of a Political Idiot: a real time war diary written during the 1999 conflict in Kosovo. Since then she has been publishing her works on blogs and other media, always connected to the Internet, and she is also a founder of Casa Jasmina, a Turin-based lab, gallery space and guest house championing an open-source Internet of Things.

What if we use utopias as a verb?

For IAM Weekend 17 we will go deeper into the meaning of utopias, with imagination and skepticism, understanding how they can evolve beyond contemporary dreams and help us navigate the uncertainty of our times.

The main stage will feature 30+ speakers distributed in 5 sessions (single-track conference format) plus 10+ workshops led by our learning partners developing the key insights from the talks. Our serendipitous agenda will also include several side-events including parties, dinners, screenings, special projects and installations.
