Sergio Albiac

Visual Artist

📲  Twitter

Spanish visual artist Sergio Albiac experiments at the intersection between generative computer code and traditional media. He develops computer programs that transform reality to express ideas about human identity, chance and emotions.

The illusion of control in a world much governed by randomness and the existing negotiation between reason and instincts are recurring inspirational themes in his work. The final result of this artistic process is not always preconceived: it can be a painting, a giclée print, a video art piece, a digital portrait or an interactive installation running on the cloud.

Albiac does not feel constrained to a single medium. He uses hybrid media to express his artistic vision. He is guided by uncertainty, intuition, curiosity and passion. He wants to stimulate in the viewer alternative answers to old questions or, better, brand new doubts

What if we use utopias as a verb?

For IAM Weekend 17 we will go deeper into the meaning of utopias, with imagination and skepticism, understanding how they can evolve beyond contemporary dreams and help us navigate the uncertainty of our times.

The main stage will feature 30+ speakers distributed in 5 sessions (single-track conference format) plus 10+ workshops led by our learning partners developing the key insights from the talks. Our serendipitous agenda will also include several side-events including parties, dinners, screenings, special projects and installations.
